Trombone

What makes the trombone super special? Its slide of course! The slide is a part of the trombone that you can move back and forth—when you slide it out, the notes get lower, and when you slide it in, the notes get higher. No other instrument in the orchestra is like this, and because of the range the slide provides, the trombone is often found carrying the melody of a piece of music. The trombone is a big voice that can growl, sing, or shout, depending on what the music needs!

The Sound All Around concert series is endowed in perpetuity by the Garrison Family Fund for Children’s Concerts, with additional support from the Acadia Fund.
