Our City, Your Orchestra

Fatherhood, Fashion, and Fun | Daddy Dressed Me at the Fabric Workshop and Museum

First aired June 14, 2021

29:12

The Orchestra teams up with Michael Gardner’s Daddy Dressed Me for an episode of Our City, Your Orchestra filmed at the Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM). Gardner began sewing in 2014 as a way to bond with his nine-year-old daughter, Ava, while looking for a new creative challenge. He created Daddy Dressed Me to help Ava build self-esteem and establish confidence in herself and her abilities.

The Fabric Workshop and Museum is an internationally acclaimed contemporary art museum devoted both to the creation and presentation of innovative works of art. The organization also serves as an education center, teaching printing apprentices necessary technical and vocational skills as well as different approaches to expression.
