Donors who make gifts made through certain charitable vehicles receive only benefits with an insubstantial fair market value, such as Playbill recognition.

Gifts of Stock

Below you will find all the information necessary to transfer appreciated securities to The Philadelphia Orchestra. There is no minimum gift requirement to execute a stock transfer.

  1. For us to identify your generous gift and issue a tax receipt, please be sure to contact us, as privacy laws discourage brokerage firms from releasing the names of clients. Please provide your name, preferred contact method, the type of stock (symbol), number of shares, and estimated value.

The Philadelphia Orchestra values gifts of stock based on the average of the high and low price of the stock on the day the stock is transferred into our account. Acknowledgements of the gift will be sent directly to the donor. 

  

For donors who wish to donate a physical stock certificate to the Orchestra, please contact us. 

 

Honorary and Memorial Gifts  

Make a memorial or honorary gift to The Philadelphia Orchestra in recognition of someone special in your life. Memorial and honorary gifts to the Orchestra are a wonderful way to honor the legacy of a loved one while providing vital support to our music and mission. 

When you make a memorial or honorary gift, the Orchestra will send a card to the recipient of your choice, notifying them of your thoughtful tribute. You will also receive an acknowledgement letter noting that no goods or services were received in exchange for your charitable contribution. 

Please visit philorch.org/donate to give in memory or in honor of a loved one. Once you fill out our form, check the box that states, “This is a Memorial/Honorary gift.” You will be prompted to give written instructions detailing who your gift is recognizing and who you would like to be acknowledged.
