Characterized by its luscious and rich strings, among other unique qualities, the distinctive sound of The Philadelphia Orchestra has been shaped and honed over decades, beginning with Leopold Stokowski and carried forward today by Yannick Nézet-Séguin.

Witness to History is an oral history series in celebration of The Philadelphia Orchestra’s 125th anniversary and the upcoming 25th anniversary of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
