Oct. 11, Qingdao: Alex during the second half of the concert, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 (“Pastoral”). The Symphony was played by The Philadelphia Orchestra on its historic 1973 tour to China. At the start of the concert, Zhang Guoyong made reference to this important connection and the meaningful artistic exchange that continues to this day with The Philadelphia Orchestra.
